Barron became a Christian just before graduating from high school in Mississippi.  After graduating from the University of Mississippi, Barron moved to the Houston area in 1980 and became a member at Covenant.  Barron recalls with fondness the day in 1984 when he met his future wife, Michiyo Nonaka, at the church.  Married since 1985, Barron and Michiyo have one son, David, and two daughters, Robin and Margaret.  Barron feels blessed by the opportunity to serve at Covenant as a Deacon.  Barron appreciates the incredible support he gets from the other church officers and the congregation as a whole in his service.  In his professional life, Barron has held various technical writing and sales positions before working since 1991 as a technical writer for a major petrochemical company.

Born in California, Stephen moved with his family at the age of five from Colorado to the great state of Texas and has lived in Houston since 1969.  Raised in a Christian home, Stephen accepted Jesus Christ into his life at an early age, but really did not see the full impact of his calling until his early twenties.  Stephen’s parents were one of the founding families of Covenant and he has attended the church since the summer of 1974. Stephen received a BBA in Accounting and Finance from Texas A&M where he met his lovely wife and best friend, Patti, under the bright flames of the 1986 Aggie bonfire.  While at A&M, Stephen was a member of the Corps of Cadets and Parson’s Mounted Calvary.  After a short career in public accounting, Stephen has served in various accounting positions in the distribution business, currently as the controller of a nationwide industrial distributor.  As a deacon, Stephen is Chairman of the Finance Committee.  Stephen and Patti live in Katy. They have three boys: Samuel, Nicholas, and Philip and a daughter-in-law, Grace.
