Resources for Growth

The Bible

Covenant's faith and life (belief and behavior) is based on the Holy Bible, God's infallible and inerrant Word, given to us in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.  We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it is the supreme and final authority (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).  Reading the Bible, all of it, is of first importance in the Christian life!

Songs of Praise

Covenant sings hymns from the beloved Trinity Hymnal (old, blue version).  There is also a newer red version of the Trinity Hymnal.  Sing God's praises and keep Christian melody in your heart!

The Christian Faith

We believe that The Westminster Standards (Confession of Faith, Larger & Shorter Catechisms) are the best systematic summary of the Christian faith which is described in the Bible.  Christians are called to know the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27).  The Westminster standards are a great place to start!

Covenant affirms The Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy.  This statement, adopted in 1978, was written by the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy, an interdenominational joint effort by hundreds of evangelical scholars and leaders to defend biblical inerrancy against the trend toward liberal and neo-orthodox conceptions of Scripture.

Covenant affirms the ecumenical (general, universal) creeds: Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed.  Each of these dates from the first centuries of the Christian church, and was written before the church divided into various branches.  They have been approved and accepted by many Christian churches.  Click here for links to these creeds.
