Transforming Hearts, Conforming to Christ

Ministries

Covenant has a variety of ministries and service opportunities

Bible Studies
Covenant Church offers a variety of mid-week Bible Studies in different parts of Houston in members' homes.  These are great times of Study, Personal Growth, Prayer, and Fellowship within the body.  Please contact the church office (281-870-0349) for directions to the study nearest you.  All are welcome.   One of them is right for you!

Outreach Activities
There are many ways for the members of Covenant to reach out and minister to others in our congregation, our neighborhood, our city, and our world: Missionaries, Local Outreach, the Abbey Assisted Living, to name a few.

Covenant provides a nursery for infants and small children during the Sunday school hour as well as during morning morning and evening worship services.  Please contact the church office at 281-870-0349 if you are a church member who would like to volunteer for nursery service.

Sunday School
Sunday School classes meet 9:40 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday in the education buildings located on the north side of the church property.  Our Christian education program at Covenant seeks to follow Paul's exhortation to take every thought captive and to be renewed in the Spirit of your mind.  Classes are offered for all ages, both youth and adult.  Youth classes are organized by age; families which desire to study the Scriptures together may do so.

Theology Conferences
Covenant has occasionally hosted theology conferences, bringing in well known speakers to teach on important subjects from the Word of God.

  • The 2008 Theology Conference featured Dr. Peter R. Jones on the subject of "Gospel Truths vs. Pagan Lies."

  • The 2007 Theology Conference featured Reverend Woody Markert on the subject of "Worship:Now and Forever."

  • The 2006 Theology Conference featured Dr. Richard Phillips and Dr. Morton Smith on the subject of  "Justification by Faith."

  • The 2003 Theology conference featured pastor, author, seminary professor, and theologian O. Palmer Robertson on the subject of "The Israel of God."
Ushering
The Deacons are in charge of ushering: greeting worshipers, passing out bulletins, helping those who need assistance with seating, collecting the tithes and offerings,  recording the sermon, and managing the building operation.
