John Paul (J.P.) was born and raised outside of Edmond, Oklahoma as the oldest of two children After graduating from high school he left home to study engineering at Oklahoma State University. While there a small group of faithful Christians from various backgrounds invited J. P. to a Bible Study and he came to know the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Before graduating from the University, he met and married Kacey, a Texan from Kingwood. After graduating they moved to Houston where J. P. found work as an engineer and started worshiping at Covenant. He and Kacey became members of Covenant in 2007 and he was elected as a Deacon in 2014. J.P. and Kacey have four children--two girls and two boys.
 
Bob Laroe
 
 
Bob grew up in various small towns in upstate New York, surrounded by dairy farms along the Hudson River.  He graduated from Calvin College, the Christian Reformed Church’s college in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1979.  Bob met and married his wife Sandy in 1978 while attending Calvin College.  Bob and Sandy have lived in Houston since 1981, where Bob started his own company installing Corian countertops.  Bob continues to work in that field, supervising inside and outside product training for a major countertop installation company.  Bob was raised in a Christian home and became a Christian in 1981 shortly after joining Covenant.  Bob was elected as a Deacon in 1989 and has served as chairman  of the Diaconate from 1999 - 2016.  Bob has also served as chairman of the Property Committee, responsible for maintaining the physical grounds and buildings of the church.  Bob and Sandy have three boys--Marc, Ryan, and Peter--and one grandson.
Bryan Mahlke
           
 
 
 
Bryan grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and God saved him in 1999 while he was living in Austin. From 2000 to 2007 Bryan served in the Navy. After completing his enlistment, he pursued a degree in Civil Engineering and while pursuing this degree, Bryan met and married his wife, Stephanie. After graduation they relocated to Houston and in 2014 Bryan was elected as a Deacon. He is grateful for all the opportunities and the many ways the Lord has provided for him to serve thus far and for the opportunity to continue serving the body of Christ here at Covenant. Bryan and Stephanie have a daughter.
 
 
 
Wie Pramono
 
 
 
 
Wie's "real name" is Wiryaputra. He was raised in Jakarta, Indonesia by wonderful parents who embraced Christ and instructed him in the Scriptures from an early age. In 2003 he came to Seattle, Washington--his first time to set foot in America. He graduated with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil/Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana. Through a miraculous intervention during the recession, God brought Wie to Houston, Texas, blessing him with a job as a structural engineer with a consultant company. He enjoys sci-fi, road trips, photography and theology. Wie became a member of Covenant in November 2010 and was elected as a Deacon in 2014. He says, "I'm glad to be part of the Covenant family and humbled by the encouragement to serve in Christ's kingdom here." He and Gladys held their wedding at Covenant in September of 2012.
 
 
 Barron Sinclair
 
 
Barron became a Christian just before graduating from high school in Mississippi.  After graduating from the University of Mississippi, Barron moved to the Houston area in 1980 and became a member at Covenant.  Barron recalls with fondness the day in 1984 when he met his future wife, Michiyo Nonaka, at the church.  Married since 1985, Barron and Michiyo have one son, David, and two daughters, Robin and Margaret.  Barron feels blessed by the opportunity to serve at Covenant as a Deacon.  Barron appreciates the incredible support he gets from the other church officers and the congregation as a whole in his service.  In his professional life, Barron has held various technical writing and sales positions before working since 1991 as a technical writer for a major petrochemical company.
   Stephen 
      Wick
 
 
Born in California, Stephen moved with his family at the age of five from Colorado to the great state of Texas and has lived in Houston since 1969.  Raised in a Christian home, Stephen accepted Jesus Christ into his life at an early age, but really did not see the full impact of his calling until his early twenties.  Stephen’s parents were one of the founding families of Covenant and he has attended the church since the summer of 1974. Stephen received a BBA in Accounting and Finance from Texas A&M where he met his lovely wife and best friend, Patti, under the bright flames of the 1986 Aggie bonfire.  While at A&M, Stephen was a member of the Corps of Cadets and Parson’s Mounted Calvary.  After a short career in public accounting, Stephen has served in various accounting positions in the distribution business, currently as the controller of a nationwide industrial distributor.  As a deacon, Stephen is Chairman of the Finance Committee.  Stephen and Patti live in Katy. They have three boys: Samuel, Nicholas, and Philip and a daughter-in-law, Grace.
